Free Student Group Live Performance The JWU AWARE Alliance presents "Child's Play-from the violence of uniformity to the unity of compassion: a drama for our times," on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Xavier Auditorium at 8:15pm. It's directed by Jamunabai Prakash and Shabnam Pancha and written by Dorothy Abram. All are invited, admission is free. Please contact Dorothy Abram for more information. The AWARE Alliance is a JWU student and community group that works in collaboration with worldwide refugees and community partners, on socio-cultural inquiry, global engagement and artistic envisioning.
Study Abroad Events Help in judging the 3rd annual Study Abroad Photo Contest. Photos are on display at the new Student Services Center in the Main Lobby all week long. In addition, join in the FREE Movie and Popcorn Night held this Thursday, Sept. 25, 6-8pm at the Multicultural Center, showing the film "SARAFINA"!
Get Out and Vote 2008! Join the Office of Student Activities and the Feinstein Community Service Center, along with other campus departments, as we Get Out and Vote! Educate yourself on candidates and issues, register to vote on Nov. 4, and participate in on and off campus events with your fellow student voters! Join the JWU Get Out and Vote 2008 Facebook group for more details on how you can Get Out! JWU Library Webguide Take a look at the JWU Library's Elections: Voter Education – 2008 Webguide. You can find updates on election news/analysis, links to voter registration, candidate profiles, political parties and their platforms, campaign donations, the latest polls and much more! Art Exhibit The Culinary Arts Museum on the Harborside Campus will feature paintings and oil sketches by artist Dorian Vincent Scotti in an exhibit entitled, "From the Garden," from Sept. 9, 2008-Jan. 9, 2009. 2008 NEASC Visit Johnson & Wales University will undergo a comprehensive evaluation visit Oct. 26-30, 2008, by a team representing the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Visit http://www.jwu.edu/ab_accred.htm, see 2008 NEASC Visit.
Dining in Providence à la JWU-Style One question most often asked by students and visitors to the Providence Campus is "Where is a good place to eat?" The JWU Dining Guide features more than 40 restaurants located in Providence and throughout the State of Rhode Island where you can enjoy a meal prepared by a graduate of Johnson & Wales University. This pocket-size guide can be found in the admission offices, bookstores and informational kiosks throughout the city. If you are looking for a great place to eat in Providence, you may want to visit one of the restaurants featured in the guide (PDF). Bon appetit!
